7 Things To Do During The School Holiday

The school holiday is here and instead of watching TV or playing with the iPad, we’ve put together 7 fun craft projects you can do with your child. Not only will this encourage them to explore their creativity and occupy their time more usefully, but it is a lot of fun for the whole family to partake in as well. If you don’t have a child yet, fret not, as these projects can be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike!

1. Design Your Own Jewellery

Jewellery beading is a lot of fun for kids of all ages, but it also teaches them the fun of D.I.Y instead of just heading to the store and buying a ready-made bracelet. It’s also really easy to do!

2. Cute Decorations

Here’s something even the little ones can do! If you have any small furniture or decor in the house that needs a little revamp, adding these cute little ladybugs as embellishments is not only easy and fun, but gives the item you’re decorating a whole new look!

3. Notebook Decor

If you’ve got a lot of unused notebooks lying around the house, here’s something you can try out. You can get your child to explore his or her creativity and decorate it however they’d like.

4. Origami

Instead of the usual paper cranes, boats and trucks, introduce the art of origami to your child with these cute paper designs! It will get them to exercise patience and encourages better control of their motor movements. There are step-by-step instructions as well, so it gets them to follow guidance.

5. Hair Band Embellishment

Here’s a good way to encourage your child to reuse items rather than throw them away and buying a new one. If they have head bands that they don’t wear anymore, they can attach embellishments on them instead and give the head bands a whole new look. It will look even better than store bought ones, especially with the effort that was put into creating it.

6. Create Your Own Stuffed Animal

Instead of buying a new toy, creating one yourself is a whole lot more fun! Not only that, but after all the hard work and effort that goes into making it, it will be more appreciated as well.

7. Design Your Own Case!

These days, most children have their own smart phones. Instead of buying a phone cover, would’t it be so much more fun in decorating one of your own? At Mr D.I.Y, you’ll find a whole variety of stickers, gems, and embellishments for them to use in this mini project.
